Annual activity requirements
Depending on your circumstances, you may be required to undertake some additional activities called Annual Activity Requirements (AAR) to meet your mutual obligations. This will apply for six months each year, after your first twelve months on income support.
What activities count towards AAR?
Customers in jobactive with full-time mutual obligations, will have Work for the Dole as their main activity to meet their AAR. You can arrange with us to undertake another suitable activity, but this will depend on your circumstances. Suitable activities include:
- Part-time paid work
- Voluntary work
- National Work Experience Programme
- Accredited language, literacy and numeracy courses
- Part-time study/accredited education and training (in a Certificate III course or higher)
- Australian Defence Force Reserves
- Drug or alcohol treatment
- Career Transition Assistance (for customers aged 45 years or older)
- Other non-vocational interventions (for those in jobactive stream C)
- Other government programs
- A combination of the activities listed above.
How many hours will I need to do to fulfil my AAR?
